I was bringing in "White" roses for Chris in past concerts. I just picture white roses is Chris' image. This time, I decided to give him red roses since he's playng at "Red" Rocks. I was putting togehther(not really arranging, more like cut and put them in the vase. Still, simple is the best.), Ron was leaving. I said, "Ron, you are gonna carry this tomorrow." He look at and said "Oh, mu gosh!" The same time, he was saying he's going to mountain to gamble.

The forcast was rain storm. Here we go.

 

Ron is off on Mondays and Tuesdays. I called him Sunday evening, he said he's gonna call back but he nerver did. I called him around 10PM and told him the show time and to come pick me up at 4PM, Since I got ticket, he's suppposed to give me ride and buy food and drinks.

I waited till noon, he might be sleeping in. He ansered but he did not remember I called night before and repeated to come pick me up at 4PM. He said his car is in the shop but he would get anoter car. I called him at 3PM.He did not answer. " Oh, what happen to him?" I started asking other people if they can take me to the concert...

The manager kept bringing me orders to do."what am I going to do? catch cab up there?" Then, I noticed I had missed call and it was Ron plus he left message. Huh. Yeah, he's on the way. He showed up, we grabbed roses. We stopped at Chineese restaurant. I ordered shrimp dish. So, good and I ate them all. The plan not to eat much. Well..

When we were leaving the restaurant, it was almost 6PM, the show starts at 7:30....still, we got to Red Rocks in 15min or so. Ron carrys my roses, climbing stairs from parking. People looked at and said " Is that for me?" A guy said that and I thought " it's gonna be good. If a guy likes it. more chance of Chris is liking it."

The gate was opened already and we just ticked scaned and went in. All the rocks look good, feel good. I asked people at gate, how I can give the roses to Chris. They said to go in and ask securitis.

As we go, I kept asking staff looking people "how can I give this to Chris Botti?". They said to go down and ask yellow jacket people. That's toward to our seats anyway. They said to go to the door up there and ask. The staff were hunging around by stage, they looked at roses and told me how beautiful they were.

The main guy said he's going toget manager. Look who's there. I called "Jeremey!!!" I knew if he's the one taking it. he's sure give it to Chris.Plus I was happy to see Jeremy.

This hard working man started sqeezing stage. Since It rained earlier. I talkeed to him before the show, no rehearsal was done becuase of rain maybe line check but they'll be OK, they've done so may times. He said he handed the roses to Chris saying "It's from me(Jeremy)." "Are you serious?"

Not so many are seated yet.

The band started rehease but not Chris and Billy. I saw Chris by stage, then he and Jeremy walked through back of stage. I got excited to see Chris.

The seats are getting filled up!!!

Show time!!!

"Ave Maria". When Chirs' first sustaing note, the audience started clapping of hands. That sound echoed to the Rock behind stage and it sounded like hard fall rain. That and just Chris' delicate trumpet soumd only. Something comoing up from inside of me.... What start.

Before the show started, I was talking to the people to our left. They were for Diana Krall. They did not know Chris. When Chris walked in, the lady said "oh, he's so young!!" I said "he's 45." "45? He doen't look like so. He's good."

When we were taking picures back out of stage, before the show, one of sevurity told me "you may want to put the camera away." After we sat down, while I was taking picture of rehearsal, another secrity told me not picture. I kept my camera low, behind the person front of me.

Afater Chris started, a security walked up towards me, I thought they saw me taking picture but they were people behind me drinking bottle of wine. No glass is allowed. They were agueing a while but walked away and came back with paper cups.

He said his new album is comig up September 25. When he played "Framenco Sketches", the guy had large album sale but not like Rod Stewart, he admits he's in Rod's American Song Book but he said volume 54 or so. When he was invited to Miles' Rock of fame, they were looking for the most pale trumpet player so on.

He asked audience if anyone know Jeff Buckly and there were some reactions. Hallelujah.

At Beaver Creek, I was wondering woman voice like sound, I found it was in "Thousand Kisses Deep". One up beat song started and I think it got other audiences' attention, too. I was wondering if it was new song but it was different arrange of 'Miami Over Night"

Mark started solo, once Chris walked up to Mark telling to get back to the nain phrase but Mark ignores and contines his solo. The audience laugh.

The show is over. So short ( I felt like it) With Ron, "Let's go to meet& greet area."
